Theatrical release of Pete's first musical score, "Owl and the Sparrow", this Friday (1/16) at 7pm at Regal Garden Grove 16!

Monday, January 12, 2009

Hey everyone,

It's one of the proudest achievements of my life so far - I've composed the score to the independent film "Owl and the Sparrow"!

Directed by Stephane Gauger, it's a heartwarming film about an orphaned girl and her journey to form a new family. It's also my first musical score to a feature-length film, so please come and check it out! =)

If you happen to be anywhere near the Orange County/LA area this Friday, I'll be at the Regal Garden Grove 16 theatre (on the corner of Brookhurst and Chapman) at 7pm. Join me if you can.

bumper sticker.

Thursday, August 7, 2008

So I saw one of those stickers that says "drum machines have no soul".. you know I've seen those for years.. and they always make me mad. Of COURSE drum machines have no soul. But you know what? NEITHER DO DRUMS. Drums are cylinders of wood and metal and plastic. You know what's not on that build sheet? A SOUL. Drums, drum machines, pianos, guitars, sousaphones, snoopy jaw harps, EVERY INSTRUMENT is a TOOL*. Dang idiots with their bumper stickers.

* Yes, I am aware that the human voice is indeed attached to said human, and as such contains a soul. But for the purpose of our exercise, let's assume the vocal chords, diaphragm, etc. are also an instrument, controlled by the human EMOTION that comes from the human SOUL that operates said instrument.

Come rock out with us at the House Of Blues at Sunset Strip!!!

Monday, June 23, 2008

Yeah, that's right! After such an amazing experience at House Of Blues at Anaheim (thank you all so much for coming out in the pouring rain)... we're absolutely thrilled to be able to play HOB again, this time at Sunset Strip in Hollywood!

Save the date! Sunday, July 20 at 7pm. We're the first band up, so don't be late! =)

After we're done, hang out with us while we check out our friends Adam's Attic (we love their band name so much and don't know why) and other acts such as Sean F. Kennedy & The Three Minute Fix, Uncle Plum, and John Clinebell.

Rock on, T'Apters!

When 'Temperature' was written...

...I had no idea it would be a foreshadowing of how bleeping hot it is outside. Time to write a song called Ice Cream Sandwich. Off the new 31 Flavors album.

I can't believe George Carlin died today.

New songs? Yeah, we've got those.

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

For any of you who got a preview of our third album at our 3 hour Kaleidoscope set last week, we're still rehearsing nonstop and are putting the finishing touches on FOUR new songs never before heard outside of our rehearsal studio. We're going to be unveiling each of our babies to the world as they're ready to walk, and we can't wait to show 'em to you at our upcoming shows.

Upcoming shows? Yeah, we've got those too. Just scroll down a little and take a gander at the right column, or go to the Shows page.

Speaking of upcoming shows, on Saturday, July 12th at 9pm a friend of ours is throwing a Rock Band Charity Tournament. Yes, you heard correctly. On a big projector screen at the Grand Star Lounge in Chinatown, anywhere from 12 to 20 "bands" will face off on the biggest video game phenomenon this year - Rock Band. You don't have to play an instrument or even be musical - you just gotta have a blast with your friends while helping kids get back on their feet after the China earthquakes. Make it to the top of the tournament and you'll get to face off with Thomas' Apartment and Big Phony (Hint: I'm the worst Rock Band guitar player alive). Sounds like a plan to me! Prizes from EA Games will be up for grabs. See you all there! =)

Bird.

Monday, June 16, 2008

So I was on the way back from lunch, and I'm pulling into the street EA is on.. and I stopped at the stop sign. And a bird started crossing the street, right in front of my car. At the crosswalk.. so I'm like "Whoah! This bird is very law-abiding. Way to be, bird!" But then the bird stopped halfway through the intersection, right in front of my car. And it looked at me. If you know me, you know I like birds. But this bird just sat there, with his head cocked, looking at me. Right in the middle of the street. And I'm thinking.. "bird, you can fly away, you know!". But the little guy just sat there, looking. So I waited for a good 30 seconds, and the bird just kept on looking. So I got out of my car, maybe to see if the bird was hurt, and as soon as I came over, he kept on walking down the street. Doing that little bird walk.

I don't know what was up with that bird, but bird? If you're reading this, 1) you are a very intelligent bird, managing to not only use a computer, but find this blog post. And 2) what doing!?
